Love the overall effect of the photo, specially the softness of color, texture, etc. Only suggestion would be to drop the strong vertical petal on the right giving the photo a better diagonal.

hmm this is just my opinion, and i mean what do i know *laughs*, but i'd have to disagree i like the picture as is, maybe a bit more cropping could be helpful, but as far the rose needing to be closer or farther away, i like the distance. To me floral pictures and such seem less eye catching, but when they are taken with more detail, seem much more interesting. If the rose was photographed from further away, the beautfiul detail would be lost, and if the picture was taken from even closer, the picture would become significantly more simple, having less appeal to draw your eye in. But again, that's just how i see it. Nice job Dylan, I think it's a beautfiul shot.
there is some cropping that needs to take place here...like on the left side, there is a big wall/ridge of color. also, i think i would like to see this rose either closer up or farther away. something about it right now seems, to me, to be too busy without a true center of focus.
