Good use of DOF. I really like the catchlight in the eyes. There is a really strong diagonal line in the background though. I'd suggest composing to eliminate it or at least hide it behind the cat.

to keep detail i tried my hardest to not use flash with this shot...I have no fancy $300 hot-shoe flash...only what's on the camera and that will sometimes have the tendency to burn out the brighter colors. so i waited till the kitty ran over to the window, then i got down on my knees with a camera at my face and she just stared at me with the cute kitten curiosity

What an adorable portrait! Great depth of field too; you kept the detail of the whiskers on the left - very difficult with white on white tones.
