About I was sitting in my car watching the world go by when a flock of Starlings started to take an interest in my lunch. Some more tame than others. Although the birds do seem to have been superimposed on the picture I have not touched them up at all. The background was a bit busy though, so I painted out an old bench, some boats and a jet ski.

Yes it seems unbelievable that this is not a montage (I have no reason to disbelieve you of course) - looks like the light near you was very different from that in the distance. Did you use the flash? The relative position of the two birds is truly amazing as well - no retakes for this shot! I think you may have a little dead space on the left side. As somebody already mentioned - the sharpness (and evenness of exposure) is also very good.

Don't think I've ever seen them this close, in flight. Wonderful capture--very sharp, yet at the same time still showing the blur of wing motion.
