About This was actually a structure found on an old railroad museum lot in Avila Beach, Ca., but through my viewfinder it looked like a prehistoric robot ;-)
Any comments on texture, color, comp would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Cris...

I think you captured this nicely. It seems that you might be too close to the subject. It doesn't seem to stand without your explanation. I love the colors.

It is an interesting object, and the colours look still nice to me!
The file is only 131 k, did you use the highest JPEG quality?
On this small format, a little sharpening (unsharp mask) might improve the perception of the textures.

Colors are excellent here - must have been really something in your original file.
One comment: Whatever it is to the right of the tank dome seems distracting to me. I think I would have removed it in Photoshop

Thanks Paulo, I'm not quite sure what it was, I think it was some kind of old fuel tank?

The colors are much more splendid in the orginal file that i have in photoshop, this jpg seems to be washed out compared to the original which shows much more detail in the cracks and flakes of the rust.

I'm having a blast with my new camera and this website.

Great colors, the strong light makes excelent details and contrast between the sky and the rusted... what is it? a train?
