About Any General Comments on the this shot would be appreciated. Is the DOF to shallow or does this work? There were a couple of bright spots that I cloned out of the background and I croppted it a bit. Other than that this is pretty much how it came out of the camera. Thanks, Cris...

Thanks to both of you for the kind words. I took a look at both of your portfolios and was very impressed by each of yours.

Elizabeth, i'm blown away by the pics your getting with the Pentex Optio... The Digital Rebel is a blast and for the me the lens that it comes with for an extra hundred bucks is really worth it. The only complaint I have about the lens is the focus ring or lack of one. I purchased a 75-300 mm ef lens and wish I would have paid the extra to get Image Stabalization but other than that i'm having a blast with the camera and the quality of pics it takes. I'm very new to photography. I've been a designer for nearly 15 years and this is my first foray into the world of picture taking. I wish there was a way to contact people directly, if there is can someone explain to me how that is done. Is it part of the paid membership?

Jason, I live in Pismo Beach, Ca. and Pelicans like this one are so use to humans that they will almost let you touch them. I was actaually only about a foot away from this guy and he was a total ham I've got a bunch of others but this was the coolest with the curve in his neck.

Thanks again for the comments...
Cris...

Great shot. I have been trying to get a pelican to pose for some years now. I think the DOF works fine. You have all the qualities of the pelican in the forefront and no distraction from the background (editing and good composition). Again, a great shot. Cheers

Very nice shot Cris. DOF works for me.
Colors and detail and great. I'm glad to see a photo
from a Rebel. I am considering a purchase but
I hesitate because some say the lens that comes with
the camera is not that great. Is this the camera lens?
I would be happy with this quality. Well done Cris.
Regards,,,Elizabeth
