Jim, thanks for your feedback. I thought I was doing well by composing the photo without the streetlight in the frame, but I didn't consider that the light would flare like it did. Initially, I kinda liked the flare because I thought it looked 'neat'. But after seeing it taken out, I think it strengthens the emphasis on the clock face.

I have just recently developed an interest in creating better pictures. I feel I am particularly weak in picking a main subject and minimizing distractions. It is hard for me to lose an element that I think is 'neat'. Forums like this are great for sharing ideas and learning.

Cool shot, but the glare of the streetlight detracts. Repositioning yourself when taking the shot (if possible to omit that element) or cropping your image to remove it would be ideal. I like that the face of the clock is lit, but the tower is not. It gives your image a great mood. As for the noise (see the attached). In the new Photoshop htere is a filter called "average" just discovered it tinkering with your image. For deep solids where the pixelation is prevalent you can create a mask (selecting the area... in this case the sky) and then run the filter on the masked area. The result is a very clear sky. I polished the edges and walla! Just a quick job 5 minutes or less. Oh and I omitted the street light. I like it with out. How about you?

Leslie, thanks for the feedback. I agree there is a very noticable amount of noise in the photo (limitations of a 2 megapixel camera). I considered blurring the noise, but I wanted to post the photo without any touch-ups. The glow from the right is completely natural and is coming from a street light, which is partial visible. I didn't expect the light to flare like it did. I considered trying to edit the light out of the photo, but I kinda like it. I am hoping to get more feedback about the light -- keep it or lose it?

Composition is excellent detail and exposure on the building are good...a bit of noise in the sky, to be expected under low light...my only question is the glow from the right...did you add that or was that natural?...doesn't matter to me...I like the end result
