What an amazing array of colors and textures on a single flower, beautifully captured. And the hot pinkish foreground blooms... at first I thought may be too much on the eye, considering the more muted subject colors, but when I cover them up, it really loses zip, so your compositional choice is interesting and right on... Nice one, Roger.

Yep. We have it on pretty good authority that even King Solomon wasn't arrayed like one of these. Now, to reply to your recommendation...
Roger, I don't like the weight, the complication, or the cost of any of the digital cameras you recommend. Not to mention the other things I wrote about that discourage me. Simple mechanical rangefinders, light and reliable, with wide-angle lenses and films whose characteristics I know by heart, are probably the tools I will stick with for the time being. So thank you (really) but, well, no thank you.

Interesting plane of focus. The DOF sure makes for an interesting image. The colors are great, but the lighting on the flower is rather harsh looking... as though a flash were used. The shaded areas are rather severe by comparison to the lit area of the petals. Perhaps a slightly higher angle of view would diminish these qualities of your image. Aside from all that mumbo jumbo this is a very beautiful sight.

You don't mention whether it is a macro,using a 105 mm on digital,so I assume it's a close-up,but it's surely as sharp as a macro and a great photo!!! Congrats, Antonella
