James, ...
Keith has indeed straightened the horizon but I disagree with him about the contrast adjustment because the 'Original' is for sure 'More Pronounced' imho because it so much more VIVID!
Thanks for sharing and Best of Regards!
P.S. ... BTW ... Your name has been added to my 'Dedication Collage' the 'Sunset Collection' and you are more than welcome to visit any of my image pages and make constructive comments and provide ratings as you wish on all!

Amazing sky, very expressive! I would like to see even more colors, esp. reflected in the water. But this way it does have a dark and more moody look.

Thanks for all the comments. The horizon is wonky, so I have straightened it on my own copy, and yes the image does benefit from being a shade lighter. A sliver of sun is a good idea. Next time...... I will remember!

I'm not so sure sometimes on offering technical comments - sometimes it's best just to be happy to have captured the moment (besides it's always difficult to change angles on the sky when you are caught up in it's beauty) - nice shot - how do you feel about it yourself?

James,
Remember you asked for this, so here goes. So far everyon has hit on straighten the horizon, I agree. (We have horizon police on here, Just kidding) This looks a little underexposed with losing some of the detail in the bank of the lake in with the trees. I do like the shadows of the clouds, but it looks like you have made the same mistake I did, which is not including atleast a sliver of the sun. However do not judge your shots against mine, I have quite a few posted on here that really suck swamp water, and no one knows this better than I. That is why I like this site, it allows me to learn and do better. The members on here are only too helpful, they really have a lot of patience with others and are really willing to go the extra effort to help you with a question. So go get 'em tiger, and let's see somemore! Later my friend,
Russ

Thanks for the comments. Funny I never noticed how crooked the horizon was. I tried to fool myself that the hills just made it look that way, but you're all right. It IS crooked. I have straightened it, and on your suggestions may resubmit tomorrow. Isn't that 'taking the piss' to resubmit the same picture?
Whatever, your comments much appreciated, even if the quality of the composition is entirely due to nature and accident rather than my skill!

Don's comment would be mine too. Besides the horizon, I think it's a great shot, one that reminds me of my time in Africa.
