Thanks very much Meehan, or should I call you M & M? Also short on time at the moment, but will return to your portfolio for a good look later. Have also added you to my friends list. Looks like we share somewhat of a common eye.

This is a delight. The snow is very well done. The cats are just too cute. It is well composed and presented.
I am adding you to my friends list. Your portfolio is full of interesting photos that I do not have time to look at right now.

Nothing much here to complain about. Might have opened the aperature just 1/2 stop to make the snow really white. Can also be corrected with levels in just about any image editing program.

Wonderful capture John. These two look as if they came from the 'wild side of life' in the animal kingdom. The lighting has left a little bit of contrast out of the image..the colors are nice tho. On my monitor the snow looks white and natural..just not enough contrast. The other little picture you posted...how delightful..shame..slow shutter..darn! Debbie

My cats played in the snow but they would quit and beg for attention if I got close to them. Love the way you captured the moment!!

I'm not dead yet. In fact, I'm doing just fine - thanks very much. Been busy selling Christmas advertising (my day job) and building a web site for our local arts oranization at http://www.spiritofthehills.org
Thanks to eveyone for your comments.
Kim; I left the snow this colour because this was the actual colour of the overcast day when I shot the picture. I did attempt a change of colour temperature, but found that Jenny and cougar's fur started to look unatural.
Frank; You're certainly right about the 995 being terrible for action shots. It's just too slow. I took about ten shots during a two or three minute period and this was the best of the bunch. Attached is a shot of the decisive moment that got away. Cheers!
Vince; Ya, right! It's zero degrees farenheit here this morning. I'd trade this snow with you in a heartbeat.

Thought you died. Most cats hate snow. Looks like they are having fun indeed. Maybe I will go play in the snow now too. Neat shot!

Other than the white not really looking white (this can be fixed in PS) I like the expressions on the cats faces.... looks like they are having fun!

A great shot, John. Love the look on the face of the cat on the right. That wild playful look. We cat lovers applaud you.

Great action shot, John. The 995 isn't noted for this type of picture, but you make it look easy.
