I look forward to seeing your posts. I kind of agree with Marc on this one as well. To me the image is a bit grainy, and the outline of the house does not help this in my opinion. Without the house the mood would be much better. Still, your lesser images are in my estimation, still very good!

Beautiful and mysterious. A different feel from the others in this series. My new favorite.

Sawhill Ponds has many faces, Greg. This is one I hadn't seen before. The cool colors and mist rising from the pond give it a flavor of serenity that contrasts the spectacular sunsets you've shown us before. A very lovely image.

Well Marc, I think the problem here is that there aren't any particular standards for "good" or "bad." This image has won a couple contests. I think the view all of us have is that we are drawn to an image or not. I think our judgments often reflect what is in us not what is outside of us. I wasn't particularly drawn to this image until I printed it out and someone wanted a copy. When posted it at other sites, people seemed to like it. I posted it at shuttercity.com and most reviews were favorable. I think possibly for the emotion expressed. I don't expect everyone who looks at any give image will like it. Often on the web, once an image is rated highly, everyone just goes along. I think an opinion that doesn't agree is as valid as any - I have grown to love this image though it is very difficult to scan because of my emotional attachment to this place and how rare these momens are here in Colorado so I don't see it objectively. I appreciate all the comments and ideas.

Very nice, Greg. I like the monochromatic colors and the reflections.

this speaks of pure serenity Greg...with the line of submerged trees leading the eye into the distant fog....

Hi, Greg... Honest opinion ? Well, I think it's good, but not up to your standard. I feel that the composition based on the angle I see is just not strong enough to hold attention despite of the monochrome feel. This is the first image of yours I come accross that doesn't do much for me. I rated it a 7. Best regards.

This is a very well done image Greg... I like the trees in the water. You certainly captured Sawhill ponds in a different way here. I am so used to seeing those wonderful clouds.

I like the reflections. The light silouettes of the trees in the background really add to the picture. Nice job.
