Jennifer, fire is always an emotive subject which stirs something inside, fear, fascination. You show an interesting and abstract composition which could be a camp fire but could equally be a large bush fire. A quick look at your folder reveals you have a nice eye for a subject. In presentation terms you will learn about stuff like compression and editing and I hope you get a lot of support from members here. In 12 months time you will see what you put up today in a completely different light. So much to learn and with your natural eye I am sure you will get and give great pleasure through your photography. oh, and never get hung up about critique on these sites,good or bad. 'Good shot!' comments and a 7/7 rating are meaningless. Try to develop your eye by giving meaningful critique to others, really look at their photos and think about what moves you, not just the technicals but also on an emotive level.
