Along with sports photography, I also use photography for youth sports training. In this instance, a young pitcher receives training from a coach while my job is to use high-speed photography to capture the details of the throwing mechanics for review with the athlete/coach and follow-up training refinement. The facilities don't like flash as there are others nearby that could get distracted/hurt, lightings isn't always the best, and there's not a lot of room - but a canon 1D and a wide angle lens do more than adequate to capture (in my opinion) some very intimate portraits of these MLB wannabees!
