wow that's awesome! i am glad you were able to place the focus on the outside edges of the flower, it really pops from the background. and i love the way the green plant in the back is kind of sunbursting around the flower, it really compliments the patterns. i love it, especially the colors, only shades of red and green. oh my, i think i just learned something...

The sharpness and detail is excellent, although I keep doing some mental gardening and removing that one piece of grass that is hanging in from the top!!! Without that piece of grass this would have been sooo awesome... did you take any others? I just find that it breaks up the flow of the lines and colours that the flower presents. The background is wonderful as well... great choice of DOF.

i can actually FEEL this one - OUCH!
Bittersweet since the colors are so feminine yet the texture is spiky.

Brilliant colors! This is an exquisite shot. I've never seen a flower of this type. Great macro! What kind of background is this? Thanks for commenting on mine earlier. I haven't learned how do do much framing yet, but hopefully will learn how to do it in PS 6.0 instead of elements or 3.0 which is what I'm doing now. And on the little barn pic, there was a heavy beam of sunlight coming through on the back side....one reason I had to crop it was because of lens flare. I was looking almost into the sun.

Thanks Rog. Was pretty sure you'd agree this was no accident. I look forward to the chance to see more of these exquisite flowers. What are they called? The TX-1 is not that big, by the way. It's a 35mm camera... only the negative is longer than usual (getting on for double). It's about the same weight and size as a Leica. Bit different shape, though.

I've never seen a flower like this. How beautiful! Hard to imagine something like this evolving by chance out of the primeval mud.

This is amazingly beautiful, but the blurred leaf draping down in front is a major distraction. Would love to see this image with out that. The detail and color are excellent.

Nice floral. I like your choice to crop this vertical flower in the horizontal format. Lighting is very nice too. Framing works well also.
