Gerhard, I sat in front of the tripod, as my assistant periodically covered the open lens, allowing me to change hand positions without excessive blurring. Thanks for your comment. Richard

Excellent capture - did you use a tripod (?), I could never hold the camera 6 seconds and have such an great result

Absolutely a great shot Richard, I'm a guitar guy and love guitar shots..... I have a few shots of guitars but they are not as cool as this .... very cool..... I need to try this.. Love the shot...

Rebecca, there are three simple chords in this photo, an A, D, and E. While experimenting with the movement, I found that fast appegios showed as a big blur. So I held those three positions while an assistant covered the lens for a fraction of a second as I changed. It still has the feel I was looking for, but there is little actual movement of my hands. Very imaginative shot. The long exposure showing us the chording fingers, the movement. ( What is this, by the way? A C minor? ) Excellent image!
