I don't believe in "photographic cliches." If I see the scene, and it happens to look its best in a way that others have taken before me, that's nothing to do with MY record of the scene. Yours is fine, Alex. You're acquiring a great record of your grand tour. I suppose it might have been nicer if the dark head of the gondolier had been silhouetted against one of the lighter houses, but you can't have everything!
