Excellent Shot. I'm a herpetologist and have seen the California version "red racer". I was also born in Florida, so I advise you to look out for the Eastern Rattlesnakes and Water Moccasins! This little fellow did a great job posing for you.

Great foto, I am sure that i dont want to meet this Black Racer. One thing, if he has teeth I would like to see it. Very good job anyway. I dont believe that you shot this with one minute shutter speed...
I like to foto animals too :)
