Thanks, Pankaj. Like most Americans, I know nothing of cricket, but I was fascinated to see the game in such a remote location. --g

You know it is a rage in India, this sport of cricket and ya it sems timeless to all the guys in my generation as we have grown up seeing it happen all around us and at the current state of affairs it's a parallel religion here.
Nice rendition of theme "timeless sport", a very decisive moment captured with a variety of postures and expressions establishing each character and his activity uniquely.
Congrats for the award! Regards Pankaj Arora

Dear G. black,
The picture is the art of eternalizing the time, the beautiful lived moments, the longings and, many of the times, the sense of the time that it was lost... Thank you for the magic of this photo. Its friend's hugs, J. Luiz

George,
I was looking for the Saint Chapelle images and came across this one. Nice shot. I like the way the players are all at slightly different angles, it makes a good effect on the eye.
I live in Kent, England, and I have been wanting to get a good cricket shot for a while. This gives me more resolve to go out and do it. I want to try and get a shot when they have their hats on. I don't understand the game either, but I think the hats are classy!

Dear George, thanks for the great compliments. Really appreciate that although I see myself as a beginner.
the architectural things from me happen by chance. it's not that I focus on them, they seem to focus on me ;-) Anyway, it's always hard to create a great level of interest. had to learn a lot on that field. take care and keep the good work up! thilo

Thilo-- Thanks for the thoughtful observation. I am enjoying your work--especially the architectural shots. Now and then I consider doing more buildings and architectural elements, but I am easily distracted. However I have managed to create a huge collection of pictures of hardware for doors--knobs, hinges, knockers. While they fascinate me, they do not have the resonance or interest of your city shots--especially those taken at night. Great work! --george

Dear George,
well done rework. the color adds a lot the antique scene, so do the weak contrast. the guys on the middle form a triangle with two guardings persons on the left & right: well seen and captured! the image gets depth by the dark tree and the faded out background. like it a lot! take care, thilo

I love this - great memories of lazy Summer days and the fact that there are no signs of modern life in the background to reinforce the nostalgic theme

George,
Wonderful nostalgic image. The sepia tone works wonders with this making it look realy old print just retrived from the attic.
I use to play cricket while in my school days long long time ago. For some reason lost interest in it.
Regards, ken.

Thank you for your nice comments--and the nostalgia. Being American, I know nothing of the game, but I had a great time watching the enthusiasm of the players and the handful of observers. (Attachment) By the way, they did have cucumber sandwiches!

A nice pun..... yes it certainly is a "timeles" sport when it takes several days to play a test match.......
I was a medium-speed swing bowler back in boarding school......
nice framing, and the sepia is just right......
cheers for that!
I miss the nice cucumber sandwiches and tea at 4 o'clock....
and my nicely red-stained white trousers.....
