Many thanks Bertram, your comments include useful insrction. This is a shot of what I wold say is at a very romantic location. What you looking at is a waterfall from the entry side rather than the traditional exit side. These falls are in the Catskill mountains of New York; in the last century and even in the 1800s, this was a most popular spot for tourists. there was a railway (called the Rip Van Winkle Raliroad) a system that brought thousands up from New York City each year and they stayed at numerous hotels stuated all over the area. there was in fact on big hotel perched up on the level shown but about 50 m to the right. Alas, the railway has gone, the tourists come in cars and the hotels are less numerous. These falls are calle Kaaterskill Falls. A very beautiful venue. Thanks always for you comments. Alan
A bit of eternity is in here indeed. Strange how the creek is vanishing into nowhere. Well seen, well caught. Superia always tends to violet rocks, takin' a bit red out makes it look more natural. And a bit more unsharp masking would make the photo clearer IMO an important thing for nature shots.
