About What fun convincing the homeowners that I only wanted to photograph the staircase ... not the house, not the imported cars, nothing else but a purple wall :-) The puzzled look on their faces was priceless :-)

Hi Linn,

(been away for some days..a lot of catchin up to do!)

Great story and it's always a lot of fun while taking hsots like these; you can hear them thinking: 'Why/what is he/she doing....?'

I love this one: simple, only tree colors, simple lines and forms. Perfect!

Have fun,
Jeroen

Linn This is great, I looked at both in the thumbnails and thought this is the one you had coloured, what a surprise to see it is the original colour. I love mauves and purples, but this is enough to put me off, I like them both, great symnetry and persective

Hi Linn, I like this clean and graphic lay out. Well captured (again) and good use of shadows and different tones to create a bit of distance. Nice shot, here!

Cheers,

Hugo

:-)) I am sure they did (and will be for a long time!) I think the father lives with them - he walks aided by a cane and he was determined to come halfway down the staircase and just stand there - staring! I had all my time to shoo him back into the house, out of my camera's view!
I think shooting in public is a laugh a minute! :-)

Great eye Linn..to pick this out...I find this image wonderful...excellent color and the diagonal lines and tones give the image a fantastic tiered look. Another side of photography...the reaction of the people you come in contact with when you are out capturing all the big and small wonders around you. I am sure the couple has shared this adventure with all of their friends, lol.....but we here, certainly understand :)

Nice work Linn (did i get it right this time?)
Good eye for this picture. I can see what Jim means though, there is something about it that gives it this look. Have you shown the owners the image?

Best wishes Neil

Hi Linn, your continuation of movement is spectacular... and I find the saturation to be perfect for what you have captured. Wonderful job.

How funny, yes I can just see the puzzled look! LOL I've also been confronted with that. Some people get a bit paranoid when seeing someone photographings their home. I probably would also!

Love this purple Linn, good eye on this one!
Lori :)

Hi Michele

The colours are for real :-) Yes, camera was set on vivid due to the sunlight - but the house is painted in those colours. You can even see the dirt and watermarks on the walls and railing.

I'm not sure why you find the colours fake? :-)

Looks a beautiful house from these few steps ;-) Nicely composed

I read the comments but i didn't understand if this is the original color of the house or not. Looks very fake especially on the top part of the railing and on the low part (especially steps 1, 2, 3, counting from the lower right corner)

Flooding is like filling with color. in PS its the little bucket. YOu select color then the little dumper thne dump it on the area you want to fill. Maybe Flooding is a term for something else as well. thats what i call it though

You're right Jim - must say though that it must be easy giving directions ... "We're in the purple house on the corner"

What do mean with "flooding"? I had the camera set on vivid because the sunlight was hard on the wall. Yes, I know it took away the white of the whites though :-)

Anyone living in a purple house shouldn't be questioning you ;-) now to the shot. Good composition, however i thought you had used "flooding " in PS to get this shot.
