Thilo, many thanks for the comments...your advice is quite welcome. I think you are definitely right about the need for a frame. Increased emphasis on the textures is a great idea as well. maybe i'll rework it a tad and repost. Anyways, thanks a lot for the input, it is very much appreciated.

Dear Todd,
I really like the way you use simple but effective color planes. the positive negative contrast is well captured and composed. like the slight tonal transition within the sky. two small ideas: first, a light frame. would help the wall to stand against the background. second: the textures on the wall. they may increase the contrast when getting more spice in here. just ideas though =)
like it as it is.
