A title tends to sway a viewer's mind... sometimes 'no title' is best... depending upon the artistes' intent

From memories past... as is said back to the future... clearly well captured-presented, with greater understanding with the prior commentary.

Reading your explanation about the Helen series I feel pleased that I guessed your inner purposes.Once more, this image is a piece of poetry, it is wonderful, nostalgic, maybe sad ,but overall , it is a piece of yourself.

Thanks for the feedback- I see what you mean. And I was not offended by the "nude Helen" comment- I had to chuckle :).

Kelli,
What I meant was that the casual viewer unaware of the series and the preceding work may not appreciate it in the same context that I do and others who are aware of and are actively following your series. In the thumbnail view, the casual viewer may just pass it not understanding or the thumbnail doesn't "grab" them - it actually looks more like an "uninteresting" abstract in the thumbnail view (that is a problem with thumbnails).

I thought Helen was the dolls so I do take back my "nude Helen" statement. The sentiment is wonderful and I am glad you shared it - it really puts the series in a whole new and more meaningful context.

Yes, you did the right thing posting it. It goes well with the series especially with the new revelation as to what the series means to you.

Why do you think it won't be well recieved on it's own (I'm not being defensive- I really want to know- I debated posting it)? The series is quite extensive- a little insight since you've been following it: When I was 7 the woman who lived across the street from me was named Helen. We collected several antique dolls in varying states of disrepair with the intent to take the good parts of each and reassemble them in to "restored" dolls. We only finished one doll. Helen died shortly there after. I carried around these doll pieces and parts for 20+ years and through almost as many relocations. I used them to illustrate the fragmented nature of my own childhood memories (hence the cropping and heavy shadows). This is a theme that has influenced my work in varied ways for the past 10 years. What I was trying to do in this case however was to take the fragments and appreciate them for what they are, instead of concentrating on the voids.... in a nutshell...

Don't tell me Helen is naked now. On it's own this image will not be well received and not make sense to most unless they view the series - luckily I have and an excellent image fitting with the series.
