Nice shot of what has to be one of the ugliest building I've ever seen, Phil! (Sorry!!) It just seems like a mish-mash of every style the architect ever learned in college, stuck together with concrete!! And to think it cost £400m+!!!
But the important thing so far as UF is concerned is that you did a good job of capturing it on camera! Well done and thanks for your recent comment on my '3 weeks early' shot.
Kind regards, Chris

Impressive, Paula! Makes ours look very modest! Yours is a bit less modern-looking, more in the style of Westminster :)

Well, no, but England's much bigger too! hahaha. I'm just joking, don't take it to heart! Hungary is a tiny country, but it still has a pretty impressive parliament... :) (see photo below)

Paula, have you seen the size of the UK parliament building?! It's not exactly modest. The site here is actually fairly small. It's a weird building - you only get a sense of it from being inside; from the outside you can't work out what the hell is going on since it's all jumbled up in the chaos of the Old Town.

Well, Jon, some commentators might liken the workings of the Parliament (unkindly) to a College of Performing Arts, so perhaps the building is appropriate?... ;)

I like the shot, and the building itself is quite.. ummm... spectacular. It just seems wrong You're sure this isn't a new College of Performing Arts or something like that?

Thanks Lori. It certainly is impressive- hopefully it will inspire our politicians to do great things. You should see the debating chamber - it's an amazing space! Sadly I didn't take any photos of it tonight - maybe another time...

WOW...I sure hope you took a bunch of images on this building! This is one awesome building! It's fantastic!
This has got to be one of the most interesting buildings I've seen! Spectacular windows. The warmth from the windows and the blue of nighttime is really GOOD!!
BEAUTIFUL! Lori :)

Thanks Chris! It certainly is an interesting building architecturally, and quite controversial given its spiralling costs. Inside though it's all worth it! Sadly I think my opportunities for taking more shots of this scene will be limited since this is not one of the public areas - it's just outside the offices for the MSPs (Members of the Scottish Parliament). I was lucky enough to be shown round the building this evening :)

I like the color contrast, and the shapes of the buildings are interesting. Would love to see this as a sunset/rise shot as well, with the sky illuminated behind the buildings,
Chris
