I took this at a 'Skaboom' concert. They were pretty sweet. Unfortunately there is a lot of noise, anyone know how to get rid of noise with ps 7? Any critiques would be very welcome.
I also took this handheld with a slow shutter speed at 200mm, so its not as sharp as i'd like. Oh well...i still like it.
Timothy I did a quick check of the photoforums for "noise" and was reminded of a programme called neat image. Free to down load so worth a try. Not much of a technical guy myself but my advice is "embrace the grain". For so many years I saw it as a hinderance but now think it only needs to be well used. Neat image can be good but gives a bit of a smudged wet sheen. I'm plotting to buy your exact camera model at christmas. I've been doing some research on sticking 30-40 year old lenses on the front of them. Some of the classics are still performing well and are ridiculously cheap. I notice this has an f.stop of 4. I wonder if you can get a fixed length lens of some sort that will give you more aperture in exchange for the sacrifice of "zooming". At the moment I'm looking for m42s and am looking in particular for "super takumars" from the early 70's (They were standard with pentax "spotmatics"). Apparently they were lavishly coated with film to keep the colours from doing prism like splits as they go through the lens. I've bought a 55ml f 1:1.4 for $30 n.z. I can't wait to use it at a small gig. So it was a ska gig this one? Great when you can get that colour on record. It'd be blown away by a flash of course. Nice to find ya!
i also like it,noise/grain, they all are part of light/ movement this is a very live picture under tricky lighting good good job.if you like check out some jazz photos from my good friend ian mcintosh.
