I have a friend similar to him, living two years in a house near the river made with grass (blocks of vervet grass). He is magnificent, restraining and confining all kind of innecessary desires, and being happy with the little things of life.

Tugce: Diogenes of Sinope (4th cn. BC.) was a Cynic philosopher with a great independence of spirit. Plutarch relates that Alexander The Great, in front of his friends -that were ridiculing the singularity of the philosopher-, said: "If I were not Alexander, I should wish to be Diogenes." Diogenes was sitting in his tub in the sun. Alexander said to him: "I am Alexander the Great," ..."And I am Diogenes the Cynic, "replied the Cynic. Alexander then requested that he would inform him what service he could render him. "Stand out between me and the sun, I only want to rest at the sunshine" said the Cynic.

Interestingly enough he is one of the very few you see in Istanbul.
For some reason this is not an usual image in the streets of this city, I see many more "fisher kings" in the cities of Europe or the US.
Great picture. Very peaceful suntanning on the last summer days.
