About Spectators awed at a B-17G, while the P-51D received no attention. To the crews of the B-17's, the P-51's were a welcome site. They referred them as, "Little friends". As mentioned before on a earlier download, the P-51's changed the airwar in WWII, due to its' range, speed, maneuveability and firepower. It was the best plane for bomber escort.

Nostalgic pic Brendon, Now can you tell me what that circular thing is between the Mustangs legs? Ive noticed it before and figure it is the wrong shape to be a cowl for the wheels.
