About	This is further into Extremadura, you can still see the same chain of mountains in the distance that were in the last photo. A lot of Extremadura was like this: very dry with lots of these little trees everywhere. There are not very many villages as it is one of the least populated areas of Spain. This is one of the reasons my hardest day of cycling occurred here: I ran out of water in 40 degree celsius heat. It was the longest day in kilometres travelled that I'd had so far too.
