patrick, beautiful shot! this is certainly a new view of the valley for me. i'm sitting here trying to figure where it is and i can't quite figure it out. i assume those are the funeral mtns. seen from the northern edge of the salt pan? regardless, this is a really excellent shot. showing all the colors of the valley. the occasions are rare when you can see it like this (i'm sure velvia is helping out a bit). you are truly lucky. kudos on another great shot!

nice alternative view of the Valley Patrick. I'm assuming that is frost in the foreground. Good job on balancing the exposure.
