i like the mood of this photo. the title and the toning help to this,and the effect would be greater if you had uploaded the image in a larger size. the tight perspective works well,and another alternative might be to go for a wider view - keeping the 'Guard' as the prominent element by going close to it,but letting more of the background appear in the frame.
