You can see long lines of figures and animals on the gable ends of roofs all over Beijing. They are supposed to protect the house ? the more animals the better the protection. This picture was taken in the Forbidden City.

Thank you for your comment, Joe. I was trying to have all figure pictures the same aspect ratios, so they would not look too rag-tag in the portfolio view. The landscape photos are all 16:9.
