About
We had an interesting and diverse Sunday afternoon. It started at Swedish Day 2005 - a Midsummer Celebration in Geneva, Illinois.
This Viking ship they had on exhibition is an exact copy of the ship dug out of a mound in 1880 at Gogstad, near Sande Fjord, Norway. It traveled in 1893 from Bergen/Norway to New London/Connecticut in 44 days and arrived in Chicago at the World's Fair on July 12th, 1893 (http://www.naha.stolaf.edu/archivist.htm).
Picture details: Aperture: f4.5, shutter: 1/40s, focal length: 48mm, no flash, no tripod.
Jurgen, I have popped in now and then on some of your photos. I live in Illinois (about 2 hours south-east of Geneva) and I have some dear, dear, dear friends in Norway. Near Bergen. What a wonderful connection. If you would like to see some of Norway from the Usefilm side, here is the link. Just tell Tina that "Jim" sent you. http://www.usefilm.com/photographer/61694.html

Nice detail, I tried adding some BW grain through "The Gimp". This would have been perfect if the sky were blue on that day :)
