Cheetahs.....wow that is so cool.... I'm excited for you and look so forward to viewing your pictures. I hope you enjoy the trip, I know I would be in heaven. I worked very hard this summer to find a mountain lion with no luck, I did find a deer killed by a mountain lion but the lion was not there. I will try again this coming summer and the next if needed. Actually this coming summer I'm focusing on Black Bear and Mountain Lion. I only spotted one bear this last summer. I been doing allot of research and hope to have better luck. Going to be a hiking fool. Again Linn enjoy your trip and take lots of pictures. Lee

Less than a thirty minute drive Lee :-) We do plan on going back again. Both of us haven't been there for decades and I think our recent visit was a bit over-whelming for both of us. The cubs were just so incredibly cute, the males just so majestic. I would like to be there when there are fewer visitors as one does feel like you are hogging all the space (road is very narrow) and need to move on to let others get their share of viewing too. But I suppose if one wants decent photo shoots you might have to act a bit selfish? :-) Now what are you going to say if I tell you that this weekend we are going to visit a Cheetah/Hyena/Wild Dog centre? :-)) It is a 3-hour tour through the camps in an open truck with limited visitors allowed per tour. And at the end of the tour, if we feel like spending the 100 Rands, we could even pose with Byron, their ambassador adult cheetah! Yeah, OK ... I will think of you when it happens :-)) Linn

Linn, Happy New Year to you and Robert. I am very jealous that you guys get to touch your Lions. Our Park only allows visitors to sit and watch from a distance. Although after seeing the marks the kitty left, I bet that had to hurt! Thanks for your kind comments on my Lion shot. Shawn

But make no mistake - these little cubs can draw blood, even in play! This is Robert's arm where you can see how the claws penetrated skin and drew blood!
