It depends! I personally started with canon so i am sticking on to it. Both are good but you got to decide which you like best. In singapore canon is more popular and have better resal value if you want to sell away, moreover, nikon is slightly more expensive than canon. Therefore i opt for canon. 20d are of course better than 10d in term of pixals and functions. the difference in prices is not much difference and bet you can get any 10d in singapore. 10 d are discontinue in singapore as replaced by 20D.

Great results Joe...money worth while.....
I am saving up for a digital SLR.
Tossing between the Canon 10/20D or the Nikon range. What do you recommend?
