About This is from a trip to Berlin last summer. I've been thinking about doing this for some time and finally did it. The crazy sky really inspired me to do some interesting tonal shifts. Thank for taking the time!

Nice lines, very contemporary, almost post modern.

Paul,

Thanks! I've been doing a lot of experimenting with dodge and burn today after I recieved Melanie's commments. I like your idea as well. Grazie!

Another way to dodge & burn is to choose a brush, Soft Light mode, set opacity and flow to about 20%, and then you can selectively lighten and darken on a single layer. ;)

Just sharin' ...

thanks again

I'm glad you liked it Erik!! It is a really simple thing to do. You just duplicate your background layer twice, then make your top layer a "burn" layer, the middle layer a "dodge" layer and adjust the opacity on both layers until you get it to look just the way you want it!

Melanie,

I like what you did. It definitely adds some drama. Maybe you give me a hint as to the process??

Very interesting! The tones are great. I'm not sure how you feel about doing any PS work on your photos but a little burning migh bring out some detail in the sky causing it to look even more "vicious" ;o)

Hope you don't mind, I just did a quick adjustment to give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Rebecca,
Vicious? I like that. It is kind of scary. Thanks for the comments.
ciao,

Absolutely awesome. These tones are beautiful, very vicious. I'm so glad you stopped to comment on mine. It gave the the opportunity to look at your portfolio, which is amazing. You have a very good eye, and I see you're also very versatile. Nice work.
