I really like the way that you caputer not only a good picture of your father but you also get the capital building in the background as well as a nice colorful sky. Even though it looks to be cloudy, the colors come out beautifully.

I love this. The composition and dof are great. He is indeed a good looking guy. And I love that little dash of pink in the sky. All in all, very well done.

Hmmm, I think the hand is not a distraction at all, I think it adds to the casual feel of the photo, but different strokes for different folks. :) Dottie

Welcome to usefilm!...technically i am not back to usefilm because just moved and trying to get settled and don't have a scanner, etc. yet...but thought i'd drop by to check out your images...this one has excellent DOF,nice lighting and good position of your Daddy (who is a handsome fellow indeed!)his hand is a bit distracting and i think would be a stronger image without it, but if a candid shot, then you didn't have a choice..regards, gayle in the other WA.

I love this shot - though not a political person, the White House in the background looks wonderful. It's very intentional yet not obtrusive if that makes any sense. He is happy with this one I bet. Great job Van and welcome to Usefilm, I hope to see more of your work soon...
