About Here is a picture of the statue at the Navy Memoral in DC. I know the Background is abit out of focus. But I like it that way. I think that it adds to the effect of the wind in the sailors coat.

HEY! One more thing I almost forgot!!!!

In my opinion this picture is a bit dark? Whudd ya think? If anyone can brighten it up a bit I'd be very interested to see it. If you are able to brighten it up a bit send it back by attaching it in a comment.

A suggestion--get the best tripod you can afford. You'll be glad you did!

George. yea I needed a tripod, alias I need to buy one. But When I took this it was pitch black so I think it did pretty well. It is pretty small though. Your Picture is very nice I like it alot. Thanks for taking a swing at it.

Ok Van here is my attempt. I did the correction in Photoshop CS. Used Image, Adjustments, Shadow/Highlight and put the scales at 75. I then gave it a greenish tone using Layers/Color Balance (a little red, green and minus on yellow).

Well, it would have to be the Navy cause a Marine wouldn't stand like that! lol. I'll see what I can do in PS & attach it here when I'm done. Dottie

Oh, yeah, it's very dark! Still, it is an interesting image. I've tweaked it a bit, but the image file itself is quite small and impossible (for me, at least) to provide any good detail. You don't give any shutter/aperture/iso information. My guess is you were pushing the envelope a bit too much. Without using a flash, you needed a tripod at least. Keep at it . . . !!!

Cheers,
--George
