a nice catch from your garden. a real etching effect.

but the red frame doesn't work for me... less is more?

thanks for you comment.

An amazing abstract photo and an excellent idea. I like the photo as it is. I don't know if the red boarder does justice to the photo itself.

Thanks for your comment, Christian. You can see the long way I still have to go in my learning process. With this pic I played a bit around with PS, but didn't find any satisfactory effect. Therefore I left it as it was, just showing the beautiful structure of the ice flowers and added the frame to take care of the contrast.

Regards, Markus

Very nice study. I agree that amplifying the contrast will result in a more powerful effect, emphazising the abstraction. I would go also for a B&W rendition, frame included.

Thanks for your kind comment, Curtis, which means quite a lot from a professional like you. As I said, there was no postprocessing at all, just a plain window full of ice flowers. But I will play around a bit with PS and see what comes out. Welcome to usefilm, btw.

Regards, Markus

This photo has a very print like feel to it. Interesting technique/results. For me it lacks a little contrast in values from a distance, but up close there are great details in the ice. Maybe pulling out some highlights and shading in some other areas would make it more interesting.
