hi roger - thanks. i think it's the film in this piece that makes it compelling for me. i find it infinitely more interesting than the other shot i posted of her, which was taken during the same shoot, just with a different film. Plus i prefer the composition in this one. Ha, ha...so you're not alone! :O)

It is a beautiful shot. The hues of blues are beautiful... i might have to try that film off B & H if they have it. If you are using your scanner for slides though it must be a pretty good one... : ) The colors look great to me.. I think the slides always look better or are better than the print or scan of them. I think that's just how it works.

thanks, tim...it's great to get that kind of feedback. I was looking at some of this stuff & wondering if i'd slipped somewhat - it sure was a treat to have all that gear to play with. Now i almost always just shoot in natural light, which has it's own beauty, but i sure love the studio lighting & xprocessing for that fashion-y look. Ah well, gotta make do with what i have. :O)

i forgot how beautiful "K" is it has been a long time since seeing her. the simplicity of this photo makes it a strong image with cool lighting. I must say that your present work is much stronger then your school images and i would not have known this till seeing them together. Hope you don't mind me mentioning this. I just see how quickly you have grown and so excitingly....hmmm is that a word?

hi johnathon - thanks so much for your comments. No, the shot wasn't x-processed, although i do love that effect as well. I scanned this from a duped slide of the original because i originally shot it in medium format & my scanner only takes 35mm slides & neg's. So, i went & found the original & the film is: kodac EPY, which shoots with this wonderful cyan tone. Everything about this shoot was white - backdrop, sheets, lighting, etc. & the cyan/blue cast comes directly from the film. Give it a try sometime - it's a great slide film & a lot of fun to play with! Hmmm...i think i'll keep the title as is! lol :O) Thanks, again - jennifer

Beautifully peaceful feel to this portrait, enhanced by the cyan cast.
Could it have been cross-processed? - I had one turn out like this - with careful colour adjustment I was able to restore a near-normal balance. But here it's great as it is.
Best wishes, Jonathan
PS you could add a "W" to the title (Wrapsody ...) - OK maybe not! ;-)))

I love the blue here....and am fascinated that you were able to keep her skin tones looking so natural. Well done Jennifer!
