I agree Fadel, There is a dreamy almost gloomy look to the original. This one was taken with Tri-x 400 asa film and printed on double weight semi matt paper. I scanned the print in this case. One of my first attempts at "serious" photography. Andre

But this one has a dreamy feel to it I think because of the shallow DOF, great now and back then series Andre!

---and I love dark images as well. Thank heavens for differences in personal taste, or this world would be awfully boring. I noticed the loss of detail in the glass as well before I put it up. Sorry, I was a little sloppy by not selecting that section out before opening up the tones in the rest, as that would have improved it. But my revision was mainly meant to be in fun (my joke about looking in with a flashlight), so I could see if there was anything else in there. The image works great the way you created in the first place, especially for it's appeal as a dark image. It is special in that regard.

Toni, A P.S. to the last comment. I am a real sucker for very dark images. Always have been and probably always will be. Andre

Hi Toni, The way I see your "Flashlight" shot on my screen is that there is a gain in detail on the lower left (bottom of steering wheel) but a loss of detail around the glass and dashboard. I don't detect much change in the thumbs however. I have to admit that my monitor is very good, but I suspect I am not getting the most out of it due to an ancient graphics card. I am looking forward to a new system soon. Then, I'm sure I will be amazed all over again. I do appreciate all the comments. Thanks again Andre

...:) I do like it the way you have it! You are so right about the monitor issue. It happens on my images as well -- people mention things look dark when they look right to me. At any rate, it's an awesome shot, and just for fun I adjusted to open up the tonal range for my viewing pleasure and here is how it came out. The title is just my bit of humor.

Toni, That is the nicest, most diplomatic way anyone has ever told me a picture was too dark :) Unfortunately, what you see is what you get. I'm pretty sure the interior was completely gutted when I took this shot. One of the things I'm finding out here is that if you tend to like darker tones, they may appear over the top on a lot of peoples monitors :( I looked at some of my shots at work, and was a little dissapointed at the quality of some compared to my monitor at home. I know this is a common problem. Andre

Oh...what a great place to take me...love being in this truck. Great perspective and mood. Thanks. I hope you do this same with the light opened up so I can see more (I like this treatment for artistic value...just would like to see more).

thanks for your comment Andre and nice to meet you! Superb car internal vision! i like the moody and "dirty" texture of the frontal window and of cliche with broken glass! Superb! Marco
