I never use sharpening to get it more sharp, but i use usm at amount 20, radius 200 and threshold 0 to enhance contrast. This produces a slight agreable (in my eyes) noise too in my ir shots..
Do you find it agreable ?

Hi Peter,
Yes, you're right, depending on the degree NeatImage does do too much. I've never tried it in just other than the 'auto' mode, don't know how much one can adjust it.
Just thought I'd ask since a lot of folks seem to mention 'noise'....LOL
Your photograph is GORGEOUS, still a 7+++!!

Neatimage is well known to me, but sometimes i don't want to use it because of the "plastic" effect that also applies .. i think some noise in this kind of photography is not "ugly".. if you look at some of the analogue IR shots, i generally see them with a certain amount of "texture" ..
Now i understand that this is a matter of taste or personal preferences ..

This is a great shot,I really like the line of the shore that winds upward through the picture.
The reflection and tones are soothing to look at.

ps..have you ever used 'NeatImage' for noise? It works great, this one is a bit 'noisy', but still EXCELLENT; composition couldn't be any better!!
