About Death Valley California has gotten more rain in the last 6 months than it usually gets in a decade. The result is that ancient dry lake Manley, actually has water in it. This image was taken in early February just south of "Bad Water" Every time I have visited here in the last 25 years this has been dry salt flat. This was a grap shot ane before I could get the tripod out the canoe was out of the water. Lake Manley is estimated to be no more than 3 feet deep (1 meter) at its deepest.

You are right. The image is weak and it needed to much PS. Its more important to me because of the subject. This winter's rains may go into the history books so I am glad I got to see it. Thanks for stopping by. JB

Spectacular scenery, and unusual too by the sounds of it. The sky seems to have quite a bit of noise, but otherwise an excellent and spacious image with beautiful textures.

The title drew me in, and your quick grab did not disappoint! You don't see THAT everyday.
