About To compensate dynamic range, I made a composite of three TIFFs (sun area, highlights and shadows), from a single RAW shot (polarizer, no lens hood) @ 10 mm ISO 100. Slight perspective correction with PS, sharpening after resizing.

Tis is great. I love the final result. It is a very calm scene.
Thanks for looking at my sunset picture. I really appreciate your taking the time to show me another alternative. It creates a whole new effect. I am not familiar with photo programs, yet. With that sunset, I took out a hydro pole and that's it. However, I am trying to learn. So, suggestions like yours do help. I am a very far way from being able to do the things that you did to achieve this wonderful picture.
Take care, Mary

Michele, you are right. I made one RAW shot, then three different conversions with CaptureOne to TIFFs: first, for the bright tones (exposed for the snow), second, for the trees and other shadows, and third, for the sun spot because it was blown out (composite with PS). Have a nice weekend ! Carsten

I like the trees being prominent in this image. Very nice blue sky without a polarizer. You talk about a perspective correction I wonder if that's the answer to my earlier question.

My first reaction was surprise at how well this looked with the sun's rays shooting straight at the lens. Great timing with the sun just touching the peak like a star. Beautiful light, shadow and mood. The toning on the snow is superb.

I appreciate this a lot! REally beautiful. REgarding the composite... u mean u postprocessed the same Raw 3 times: one time for the highlights, another for midtones and the last one for shadows and then layered all the three?
