OMG!!!! How terrible is this photo. I can't believe you could dare to put such rubbish up on this site for professional honest photographers that only ever take brilliant photos.
The lighting is all wrong, the colours are not flat enough and the expression on the bird is definitely not correct. The bird should be frowning at you for taking such a disgusting photo of him.
The background has definitely been cut from another image. You really don't know PS work, do you.
Shame on you Mr Marcus.....shame, shame, shame!!!

Of course, great capture of the bird. I like how you gave more space around it than in the origial shot. Being in the vast minority, I hesitate to give my opinion about the background - I would have preferred the clouds not blurred. Now I will duck while I have tomatoes and eggs thrown at me!

Thanks Gil, I have shot some in the rain, but I seem to have less creativity then many :), with my luck chp will get me..... Grizzly Island is up around 20 miles past Vallejo Its really nice to shoot there when they have the whole place open, I acutally went to get some river otter shots as my Fiancee Loves them but the Island area itself was closed yet the surrounding area rich with birds, Flowers, and nice landscape was open.......

The hawk is in perfect full flight with His wings proudly displayed ! I love the detail showing his claws tucked in under the tail feathers and the little curved part of His beak! The look in His eye is one of shear determination!

Of course aainst the wind! whenever you take off you do it against the wind. Even I, who only flew a kite (and a parachute) know that. Excellent bird photo. Nothing less is to be expected from you, Marcus.
Thank you for your kind words about my "Glass 6."
The secret behind it is that I took a glass I had captured before (I don't remember which one), inverted the colors, used the "glowing edges" filter and did some futher manipulation from among the ones I had learned in the three lessons I had so far in P.S. and implemented them. I'm glad you liked the outcome.
