thanks Bryan! I was into birds a lot for some time, but that has chanced since I have kids :) I still remember this photos. I was sitting on my camera case sourounded by swans and this one was extremely close not scared at all. I felt like one of them.

Wonderful capture! Your portfolio is fabulous! I so enjoyed viewing your images! Your children are beautiful and you have captured their many expressions of childhood with the heart of a dad and the lens of a professional. Such a pleasure! God bless you and yours.

thanks Carsten! Yes this was a little lucky. I had no way of framing that except guessing. And there was not much time to try different things. Just for the life LCD view I'm thinking about getting a P&S digital again.

Really impressive, Her Majesty. You were lucky to be received in audience, and chose the frog perspective, accordingly. Joking aside: very good idea with the perspective and skillful aiming and handling of your Nikon. For such situations a digicam like my good old G1 or successors with a flip-out LCD are unbeatable. With my DSLR I forgot this photographic technique almost completely, thank you for the hint ;-)

Thanks James, it was a funny experience to take this photo. The swan was really close and stared at me. I find it interesting that many people notice the water drops. I didn't think they were something noticeable but I guess they are a nice little detail.

Hi Thomas,

Wow - how did you get the bird from that angle!? I know that swans can be pretty annoying if you get that close.
Also just wanted to say to a fellow Münchner - have been living there for some 10 years. Where did you take this one?

Unique and stunning swan shot. You really have shot this from a great angle. It really makes the bird look so commanding almost like royalty, especially with the "diamonds" of water on it's feathers. Excellent!
Thanks.
