Thankyou, Detlef. I went back to some old slides from our mountaineering days, and this one brought back a lot of memories. At that time, we were very careful about weight. I have a friend who even cut the handle off of his toothbrush to save weight! In that setting, it is not whether to bring a polarizer, but whether the weight of a point and shoot camera is worth it at all. Usually one of us would bring the small camera, and others would bring the first aid kit, etc. Det, you have been all over Western Canada. For your next trip, I suggest Lake O'hara, for a week. You will create images there that will be unforgettable.
