About Taken this afternoon. I was out in the woods with snow up my knees (what you wouldn't do for some pictures hehe), and suddenly I heard this Great Spotted Woodpecker up in the tree. I got my 1GB CF card full of RAW-pictures of this bird and this is just one of the ones that was good. Luckily the sun was shining directly at the bird. Hope you like it.

Wonderful capture. The touches of red plumage help to make this a very attractive bird and add a dash of colour contrast. The grain of the wood is caught in fine detail, too.
