This is a shot of the 301 bridge that connects Virginia and Maryland. This is the last bridge on the Potomac River before it empties into the Chesapeake Bay. I am taking the photo from the Virginia side of the river. It is approximately 6 miles across to the Maryland shore. It is quite a long bridge. I?m not sure what the factory smoke stacks are for.
A policeman interrogated me after taking these pictures, he said something about 911 and that you could never be too careful. Anyways it is apparent that a few of our privileges (taking pictures) come with the cost of having to give your name, address and name of your closest living relative to the police so they can make sure you are not a terrorist. Not a bad thing but no one likes to be approached by police for anything.
Gorgeous colouring and interesting silhouettes, Yes it is sad and reassuring at the same time I guess, definitely not nice being approached by police - Margaret
