thanks James! The gradient in the sky is intentional (I felt the sky was too flat). The halo is an artifact of PS' highlight/shadow tool. I noticed it and didn't like that much but the general improovment of the tool outweighted it, so I went on. Now, in retrospect, I tend to actually like the halo. The whole contrast/colors are unrealistically exagregated and in a way the halo add to that effect.

Wonderful light on the formation and the ground around it. There's a really strong gradient in the sky from top to bottom, and there's a large halo around the top of the formation. Looks like some more work is required.

thanks Carsten! I really like this when I saw it and I"m happy in tuned out so nice. I used the highligh/shadow tool in PS the very first time and since it works with a soft radius it created the halo around the top rock. I wanted to get rid of it but wasn't sure if it lokks odd or might even emphasise the rock formation.
You definitely have a very keen eye for those things :)

Another superb landscape and skyscape, congrats ! Composition is perfect IMO, and colors are just great. My nitpick: after a close look I see a slight luminance gradient noticeable around the stone on the left side (barely visble, no major issue).

Wow, David, this is great! I don't care what process you utilized to get here, you got here, this is a *supurb* piece of work! Very Ansel Adams-ish, only in full color, and the colors, amazing! The clouds are very well placed, The exposure and the texture of the rock is awesome! I can't say enough, I want this on my wall! :) For someone who has such great pics of their kids, your other photography is excellent as well! Great job!
