Very pretty Judi, are these anything like what we used to call "cat of nine tails"?, they would get a brown pod olike I think on each plant......

A very nice, peaceful scene, Judi! It makes me think of a quiet summer day beside the pond, with hours to whittle away.

Judi, I think what Steve does, analyzing your shots is great. It's how people learn "why" something is good...what makes it an appealing image. Of course, you may not see all these details in your conscious mind as you're taking the shot, but you definately see them subconsciously...it's what gives YOU your "eye"!! This image appeals to me for those very reasons...it has a real cohesiveness about it, and a dynamic composition, even if it is a simple subject!

Very well done!

Hi Judi

Then you should always trust that feeling because it seems to be working !

I have a lot to learn myself, and am far far far from being anything other than a keen amateur. I love to try to work out WHY something looks good to me.... and hopefully, eventually, some of that understanding will help my own photograhy.

In the meantime, I am very flattered that my you find my comments useful, and, of course I will keep commenting - just keep the great photos coming ;)

kindest regards

Steve

Steve...please never stop commenting (or analyzing) my images. I learn so much from them...more than one can imagine. You point things out that are so obvious but things that I don't see when I look at an image, until you point them out. You have helped me learn no end. I look through the viewfinder and I just get a feeling when it is right. I can never understand that feeling...then you go and explain it to me. For that....I thankyou.

Hey Judi,

A very interesting shot.... you have the green of the trees and the grass in the bg, and then the brown of the creek - with some nice reflection of the brown reeds and the tree on the far bank.

The interesting part is that, cutting across the symmetry are the green reeds in the fg - almost stitching the two symmetrical halves of the composition together :)

i realise this is probably overanalysing an essentially simple piece - but you've gotta speak out when something hits yer mind :)

All the best

Steve

Thankyou so very much Elahe. I am wondering why it has had 17 views and not one comment. Very strange.
