i dont think the eye really follows the pictures, your setting makes three pics into a semicircle with another picture in the background, the veiwer will have to make a chioce on whether to look first at the background or the pictures in the front as opposed to the eyes following a logical path through all the four pics. you should arrange the three pics vertically on the right hand of the frame. you can tilt them to give an unconventional approach. that way the eyes will follow all the four images easily without the viewer having to make the unconscious chioce. try it out. just a suggestion.
