Very creative and intriguing image Paul, I love how the window is used as the frame, and the wonderful overall cast that the tinting of the window adds to this beautiful steeple you have so eloquently presented here..the colors are fabulous, this almost has a kind of fairy tale look to it..wonderfully composed...:):)Linda

So great Paul! I was a little tired and hungry (hungary ha ha) when I arrived at the fisherman's bastion and lazily snapped a reflection shot that turned out to be uninteresting. Your photo makes me wish I had been more patient. Great photo and nice framing!

Great shot, Paul. Unique and very effective technique. The building does look geat in the tinted window. Mary Thanks very much for your comment on the 'Athletic Tree' picture. I'm glad you like it. -

Indeed it is a different view, Paul. You have cleverly used the Hilton's tinted glasses. Very captivating.

Molto ben vista e presentata. Ciao, Paolo

Beautiful reflection! The image is very well balanced. The color does give it an antique feel. BTW, I drove past "Paul's Photo" on Hawthorne Blvd., in Torrance, CA, last week and thought of you. :)

Thanks for the comment.. actually, I would not want to correct the distortion, since it is what makes the image. Since I have photos of the actual building, I did not need to have it perfect in the reflection :)

A pity that you did not correct the distortion, easy to do with software even available by freeware. Nice shot.

thanks..glad that you like the photo. The bottom part of the window is not a curtain.. it is a direct reflection of the building.. the streaks are probably just from the window itself, probably from the weather...

Thanks Matej.. I think I know what your stating.. basically, the image was shot as I saw it so there wasn't any manipulation, other than cropping.

Thanks Thilo,.. not much I could do with the geometry. I knew in posting it there would be some comments on it but the angle was pretty steep.. did do some corrections to make it better but too much more and it would have impacted the image itself... thanks for the comments!

The hotness of the vertical highlight lines distracts me to a noticable degree (the high tones don't seem to fit well with the more subtle edges), but otherwise I quite like the photo.

Hi Paul,
nice natural framing and great idea to show the reflection. I would probably work on the geometry here as the lower shooting point puts some pain on the flatness ;-)
no big deal though, nice work and format anyway.

You turn away from your subject but it stays before you. Yes the window does impart an interesting tint, and the white edges of the window broken up by the joints adds interest as well.

This is really, really good. I would have HAD to correct the verticals (which don't really matter, I suppose). What works wonderfully is the distortion and colouration imposed by the glass mirrors. Oh yes, the contrast between the modern-ish wall frame around the window and the historic architecture in the reflection is also subtly effective.
